Environmental Sustainability
The BIG issue……
It has never been more important to ensure that businesses operate in the most environmentally efficient and friendly way as possible. The green economy is gaining more and more traction and awareness, visible in all the recent signing of the COP21 Paris Agreement of the United Nations on Climate Change.
The circular economy is an attractive business modelling concept which promises the efficient (re-)use of resources and presents a strong business case for do so. Most people do agree that more should be done to reverse the negative effects of climate change. However, a lot of companies find it difficult to turn their potential into practice. The big issue with most businesses is how to apply the concept of environmental sustainability to their individual operations and resource streams? Most people think that if they recycle more of their waste, turn off the lights and computers and the end of the day and buy from a fair trade supplier then they are doing their bit for the environment. This is part of it but a very small part. To really be a sustainable business you have to have the environment integrated into the very fabric of your organisation. This is not always very easy and the infrastructure to achieve this is not always readily available.
What we’ve created
We have developed a number of tools to help you assess your current business model and see how it can be adapted or restructured to become a more environmentally sustainable business model. We have an environmental research team which is constantly researching and reviewing the emerging business models in this area. This is a relatively new concept and our research team regularly contributes to the debates going on in the business world on climate change and environmental sustainability in order to develop the best structures for your sustainable business.
