COMPLIANCE WITH UK ESG LAWS
Help and support to meet your Scope 2 and Scope 3 legal obligations
Do you need to measure and monitor your carbon emissions to meet current UK Government requirements
Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions are categories defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol to measure a company’s carbon footprint. They separate emissions into direct company operations, indirect energy use, and the wider value chain to help organizations identify and reduce their overall environmental impact.
Scope 2: Indirect Energy Emissions
These are indirect emissions generated by the production of energy that the company purchases and consumes. Since the company doesn’t produce the energy itself, these emissions happen at the facility where the energy is generated.
Scope 3: Indirect Value Chain Emissions
These are all other indirect emissions that occur up and down the company’s value chain, both upstream (before the product reaches the company) and downstream (after it leaves). These are often the largest source of a company’s greenhouse gas footprint, sometimes accounting for up to 90% of their total emissions
