5 Rs of turning your business Green

There are five pillars to a Green sustainable business strategy;

REFUSE – to encourage habits which pollute the environment – don’t buy plastics for your business packaging

REDUCE – the amount of packaging used in general and plastics specifically. Reduce the impact you have on the environment via your buying options and energy usage

REUSE (and REFILL)– work towards a zero waste business. Reuse/refill ink cartridges, bottles, boxes, cleaning products, etc. Look at where in your business you can encourage your customers to reuse things.

RECYCLE – Not all waste is waste. Look at what can be recycled and separate your rubbish into food waste using a compost, paper/plastic, non recyclables. But it doesn’t stop there look at how much you are recycling and aim to reduce this especially packaging.

REDESIGN/REPURPOSE – Look at your business products or service with the aim of redesigning waste out.
